I had been a Toy Dolls fan since about 1987, and had always wondered about where the band got the inspiration for their songs. Not any more. This book tells you all you need to know, with a full chronological history from 1979 to the present day, interspersed with chapters devoted to songwriting themes (soap operas, girlfriends, places, celebrities, mates from singer Olga's youth, etc), and an 8-page photo section. The tone is informative but relaxed, and the material is often very funny. I found the author's tone just right for a biography of this type: it's clear he's a top-grade fan, but he's also objective and honest in his appraisal of the band. I can't recall reading a better punk biography, and congratulate Ronan Fitzsimons on his achievement. Buy this book and lose yourself in a madcap world of nostalgia, humour and premier league punk!
